Exercise and movement
Exercise and movement create radiance at both an internal and external level. I know this because at different stages of my life, when I could not exercise or had to take a forced break, that I experienced increased stress and lower moods and a somewhat agitated feeling after a while. I also felt heavier and didn’t feel as good about myself even when my weight remained the same, so I know for me that exercise and movement is an integral part of my daily existence.
In a way exercise also becomes ‘addictive’, as the feel good hormones that are released from exercise, really do lift you and give you an abundance of positivity and drive.
The human body is designed to move. Moving naturally throughout the day such as walking, gardening and doing housework is both beneficial and rewarded by our body. Our rewards include improved agility, balance, coordination, reaction time and increased mental wellbeing.
So it makes sense, that we are not by nature designed to live a sedentary life.
Those who regularly exercise will know that it improves moods, reduces stress and anxiety, helps maintain a healthy weight and builds a strong heart, muscles and bones. And long term, reduces the risk of disease like diabetes or cancer later in life.
Exercise is far more than building bigger muscles and a better shape, exercise is paramount for an alert mind and healthy body at a physiological level. I also see exercise as a massive driver towards stable and strong mental health
Moreover, it is also one of my elements to personal radiance. The sparkle that comes from exercising is more than just glow in the face; it is the energy and the radiance that comes from within when we are hit with the endorphins that create a positive feeling in the body.
I know first-hand through my work as a Personal Trainer that exercise also builds stronger personal relationships, boosts confidence and allows people to express another purpose in life. Exercise also teaches us fundamental skills in movement which we can use daily to protect our body from injury.
Yet, the world we live in currently is allowing us to become more and more sedentary if we choose. Too many of us are missing out on the physiological benefits of daily movement and exercise. For many of us, moving more and making a commitment to exercise is a chore, not something we enjoy and look forward to which is saddening considering all the benefits that come from it.
For the most part when you do start exercising it is hard and feels uncomfortable because you have lost conditioning, but the human body is amazingly adaptive and the more you move the easier it becomes at a very quick rate.
“The body will become better at whatever you do, or don’t do. You don’t move? The body will make you better at NOT moving. If you move, your body will allow more movement.”

Exercise does not need to be extreme, but it needs to be regular for your body and mind to excel. The main thing is that you are moving and pushing your body to work a little harder to start reaping the benefits.
So, if you aren’t moving much then just start to do a little more! And if you don’t enjoy exercise ask yourself why, given there are so many benefits and so many rewards.
Exercise and movement needs to be in line with your values to really become a long term commitment. If you have not done this, then maybe it is time to align them and watch how your body and mind and life change for the good.
